QUALITY YOU CAN TASTE.

100% grass fed and finished, our beef is from cattle that have been naturally grazed in open, grassy pastures according to holistic ranching practices. They are never given grains, hormones, or antibiotics — nor do they spend any time in a feedlot. This results in meat that is higher in nutrients and lower in cholesterol and calories than commercially raised corn-fed beef.

Regeneratively raised in Northern California.

We work closely with our Grazing Partners to ensure each and every animal is raised according to the highest possible standards.

Our single-source grass-fed Beef is from Richards Regenerative, a family-owned and operated ranch in Northern California. With over 6,500 acres of land, the animals are grazed according to regenerative ranching methods that have been ecologically verified by the Savory Institute to help rejuvenate the soil and support native flora and fauna. This results in a better life for the animals, a better future for our land, and better meat for you.

Frequently Asked Questions about Grass-fed Beef

1Does grass-fed beef taste different?
Grass-fed beef such as ours does taste different than commercially raised corn-fed beef. Grass-fed beef has a richer, earthier flavor due to the diverse, mineral rich diet of grasses, herbs, and other vegetation. Since these vary by region as well, grass-fed cattle from different areas of the country will likely taste slightly different. Grass-fed beef is also much leaned th than grain-fed beef which gives it meatier taste, allowing the true natual flavor of the meat to shine. You’ll notice as well that there will be less marbling evident in your grass-fed beef steak — and the fat you do see will be a more yellow color due to the higher levels of beta-carotene in the animal’s diet.
2Are there health benefits to eating grass-fed beef?
Grass-fed beef is high in beta-carotene, Vitamin E & B, essential Omega 3 fatty acids, Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), and Trans Vaccenic Acid (TVA). Because grass-fed animals are naturally leaner, the beef is also lower in cholesterol and calories than commercially raised corn fed beef which may make it a healthier source of meat for you and your family.
3How is your beef prepared and packaged?
The meat is cut and vacuum packed in see-through packages. This airless environment ensures high quality and a long shelf life in your freezer. The USDA does not put a shelf life on flash frozen vacuum sealed meat. However for the highest quality flavor we suggest it be finished in 1 year. To thaw your beef after freezing, we recommend placing it in the refrigerator overnight to allow the meat to slowly unfreeze. A one pound package will take approximately 20-24 hours to thaw this way.
