    Looked beautiful, taste was very good but they were tough. Even cutting with sharp knives. Perhaps this is normal with bison but just tough!

    They are expensive – but they were so good. I smoked them in a Weber bullit smoker and then seared them on the grill. They were very tasty!

    We bought steaks for Christmas dinner and the two bison fillets were great, but the elk steak was very gamy and the Tomahawk bison ribeyes were as tough as a shoe. They were all prepared the same. Prepared properly to a medium rare but the meat on the tomahawks was so tough we could barely cut through them. They were tough to chew & almost no flavor. It was sad!

    So basically for Christmas dinner we has 2 filets for 4 people. It was disappointing st best. We had to throw the tomahawks away & were left hungry…

    Great sorce of protien .The sealed packaging keeps the meat fresh and simple to prepare .I would recomend to any one eating carnivor or for house holds who eat heat to tail nutrition .

    So I got the Tomahawk Bison Steak but I would have liked to have had some recipes that were proven. I’ve been busy but I was able to find some on the web and will pick the best one and try it so I can’t comment on the product but it looks good. And the ethics of raising these animals is what I was looking for.

    Besides the issue of “recipes” I would recommend that the company work on the packaging. I’ve gotten other protein off the web and the shrink wrap packaging which they use seems to accommodate the contours of the product. The shrink wrap used in these seems to flatten the edges (due to the vacuum process) and that might be something to work on.
